And it shall be a matter of decency and honour and respect that the surviving man or the surviving woman
waits twenty four months before contracting another bond of marriage; however, it is not beneath dignity and
honour and respect to think about another woman or another man during the twenty four months and to
maintain a friendship with him or her with the intention of entering into a bond of marriage; however, during
the waiting time of decency and honour and respect do not secretly conclude an agreement for a bond of marriage, because this is not seemly; if you do this, however, then you are putting yourselves in ignominy and disrepute; therefore do not decide on a bond of marriage before expiry of the bidden time, so that you will stand
in honour and dignity before the people of your kind (human beings); therefore you shall think about guarding yourselves against contravening the recommendation, then know whatever you do and omit, the ones
without equitableness (unfair ones/irresponsible ones/inequitable ones) and the unknowing ones in the truth
are not forgiving and not forbearing. |

Und es soll um den Anstand und der Ehre und Ehrfurcht sein, dass der hinterbliebene Mann oder
das hinterbliebene Weib vierundzwanzig Monate abwarte, ehe eine neue Bindung für ein anderes Bündnis zur Ehe geschlossen werde; es ist aber nicht unter dem Anstand und der Ehre und
Ehrfurcht, während den vierundzwanzig Monaten in Gedanken an ein anderes Weib oder einen
anderen Mann zu verweilen und mit ihm eine Freundschaft in der Absicht einer Eingehung in
ein Bündnis der Ehe zu pflegen; schliesst jedoch in der Wartezeit von Anstand und Ehre und Ehrfurcht nicht heimlich einen Vertrag zum Bündnis der Ehe, denn es geziemt sich nicht; so ihr aber
doch solches tut, dann bringt ihr euch selbst in Schande und Verruf; also beschliesst nicht ein
Bündnis der Ehe vor Ablauf der gebotenen Frist, auf dass ihr in Ehre und Würde dasteht vor den
Euresgleichen (Menschen); also sollt ihr bedenken, euch davor zu hüten, gegen das Gebot zu
verstossen, denn wisst, was ihr auch immer tut und fehlt, die Billigkeitslosen (Ungerechten/Verantwortungslosen/Gerechtigkeitslosen) und Unwissenden in der Wahrheit sind nicht verzeihend
und nicht langmütig. |
